Our clients purchased a 1980s modern Rhode Island beach cottage with long distance views to the sea from the second floor living space. The footprint of the house is small but they requested a living room that could accommodate up to 8 guests seated. A triangular shape second floor deck overlooks land and sea. Our objective was to blur the division of inside and outside: our palette of blues, whites and turquoise colors predominant in the view were brought inside. The all glass wall separating the deck from the family room required us to decorate as if it was all one room.
